Kate Brown was Lt. Governor of Oregon when Governor Kitzhaber resigned in 2015. After being sworn in as the state’s chief executive she faced a special election in 2016 to finish out her first term, and a re-election contest for her final term just two years later.
Governor Brown’s relentless pursuit of priorities like health care access, quality education, sound environmental policy and equal rights won her acclaim as the most progressive governor in the country, but it also motivated Republicans to come at her with everything they had.
Vote-by-mail is the standard in Oregon, so we created direct mail programs aimed at motivating Democratic base voters to fill out and return their ballots. Governor Brown was sworn in for her second and final term on January 14, 2019.
